There are six main small cities around Lake Grapevine: Flower Mound, Coppell, Grapevine, Southlake, Westlake, and Trophy Club. Lakeside Living in Flower Mound, Texas
Located north of Lake Grapevine, Flower Mound, Texas boasts the largest population of all the surrounding sister cities. With approximately 76,000 residents, Flower Mound continues to grow and become one of the most affluent cities in the Fort Worth area.
The affluence of Flower Mound shows itself in the lakeside properties available for sale. The vast majority of homes on or extremely close to the lake are situated on acre-sized lots, and feature large gated estates with backyard pools and palatial construction and floorplans. These homes start at about $300 per square foot and can sell for upwards of $600 per square foot. Move just a few blocks north of the lake, and the home costs drop significantly, and the family eager to like near Lake Grapevine can find remodeled homes with fully renovated interiors for about $150 per square foot. For those who prefer a luxury townhome near Lake Grapevine, there are brand new townhomes that sell for $230 per square foot. No matter what type of home you are looking for, you can find a great home for just about every budget in Flower Mound.
There are several great parks in Flower Mound that border Lake Grapevine. Notable parks near Lake Grapevine include Murrell Park, which is operated by the Army Corps of Engineers and offers the Twin Coves Marina, and Fishing areas, and the campground at Twin Coves Park. If you love outdoor sports, a short trip will take you to Gerault Park, which features Baseball, Football, and Lacrosse Fields, along with a concession stand. Next to Gerault Park is Heritage Park, which has a dog park and playgrounds perfect for your young ones and your furry friends.
Residents of Flower Mound can enjoy a varied assortment of restaurants and cafes which will appeal to just about every taste. The intersection of Lakeside Parkway and Long Prarie Road features several high-quality dining options. Lakeside Homes for Sale in Grapevine, Texas
Situated on the southeast quadrant of Lake Grapevine is the second largest suburb near the lake. Grapevine has a population of around 50,000 people, and the city continues to show a strong migration from Fort Worth for its peaceful suburban atmosphere and the beautiful homes near or on the lake. Spanish style estates on lots close to an acre in size on Lake Grapevine can be found for $400 per square foot, while more modest homes within walking distance to the lake are available for $160 per square foot up to $200 per square foot.
Homes in Downtown Grapevine illustrate the overall real estate demand within the city of Grapevine, where homes command prices upwards of $300 per square foot. As you explore northwest of downtown, the home prices tend to decline, with condos and townhomes ranging from $130 per square foot, and single family homes starting at $150 per square foot.
There are two main parks on Lake Grapevine: Oak Grove Park and Meadowmere Park. Aside from the common lakeside park amenities (fishing, boating, etc.), Oak Grove Park is also home to an incredible array of multi-sport field complex, which includes a Softball Complex, Soccer Complex, and Ballfield Complex. Enjoy a great day of sports before taking a boat ride at Oak Grove Park. Conversely, Meadowmere Park is more well-known for its playgrounds, lakefront campgrounds, bird-watching, and nature trails. There are homes for sale available within a block of both parks, and are moderately priced in the $170-$200 per square foot range.
One of the cool aspects of the communities near Lake Grapevine is the dining available on or near the lake. Big Daddy’s Ship Store sits near the shore next to Oak Grove Park, and features a wide variety of breakfast, lunch, seafood, and dinner options including raw oysters and delicious barbecue. Near Grapevine Lake Estates, you will find several dining options within the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center. Taste some savory beef and pork at Old Hickory Steakhouse, or some fantastic Italian cuisine at Zeppole.
Lakeside Homes for Sale in Southlake, Texas
Southlake is considered one of the richest cities in America and only has a population of around 30,000. Lake Grapevine’s southwestern border is where you’ll find the vast majority of lakeside homes in Southlake. The homes for sale near Lake Grapevine within Southlake are often situated on large lots, upwards of three acres or more. This provides plenty of room to add a playground, treehouses, or even a guest house or casita. Homes by the lake in Southlake are amongst the priciest in the Fort Worth, with asking prices over $500 per square foot. Smaller homes with smaller lots can also be found for less than $200 per square foot.
As you explore the eastern section of Southlake, near the western border of Meadowmere Park, you will find plenty of homes for sale within a short drive of Lake Grapevine, ranging in price from $180 to $250 per square foot. Complete with oak cabinetry, stainless steel appliances, and brand new flooring, the homes near Meadowmere Park are certainly worth looking into. Although there are only condos for sale in the heart of midtown Southlake, those interested in these condos will only be a few miles from Lake Grapevine. Condo prices in the area are congruent with those on the lake, ranging from $250 and up to over $600 per square foot.
Bob Jones Park is less than two miles from Lake Grapevine and offers a wide variety of attractions and amenities. This 500-acre park features a dog park with dog drinking stations, fishing, 13 soccer fields, softball fields, playgrounds, grills and picnic tables, just to name a few. There is also the Bob Jones Nature Center, which is well known in the area for the fun and scenic nature trails, including the Walnut Grove National Recreation Trail, the White-tail Deer Trail, and the Bluebird Trail. This expansive park is ideal for the Southlake family that loves the outdoors and spends most of their free time outside.
Although there are no restaurant options near or on Lake Grapevine within the city limits of Southlake, the heart of the town is where you’ll find some incredible dining, from local restaurants to popular chain restaurants. Panera Bread Starbucks and Corner Bakery Café are fantastic places to grab some coffee and some tasty goodies, and are within two miles of each other along Southlake Blvd. Modern Market Eatery has locations scattered all across the country, and offers a plethora of nutritious menu items for breakfast and lunch, as well as fresh juices and even several popular beer and wine options. When you are craving a spectacular dining experience, Southlake features several upscale eateries, including Howard Wang’s China Grill, Bonefish Grill, and Truluck’s. If you love to experience the finest of the North Texas luxury living experience, Southlake is the perfect place for you to call home.
Lakeside Living in Trophy Club, Texas
The last small town surrounding Lake Grapevine, it also has the smallest population with just over 8,000 people. Much like Southlake, Trophy Club is considered one of the more affluent towns near Fort Worth and is near the northwestern section of Lake Grapevine. One of the interesting aspects of Trophy Club is it’s the only town bordering Lake Grapevine that does not have homes on or within half a mile of the lake. However, there are still plenty great traditional-build homes for sale near the lake, many of them ready to move in and at a great price, typically around $150 per square feet. Anyone interested in large Spanish- and Mediterranean-style estates will find them within a 10-minute drive of the lake. Prices of the larger estates range from $180 to $240 per square foot.
One of the reasons there are no homes near Lake Grapevine in Trophy Club is due to the expansive Trophy Club Park. This park is truly an outdoor enthusiasts’ dream: The boat launch area is perfect for a day on the water and kayaking, and features several miles worth of ATV trails. The park covers well over 800 acres of beautiful North Texas woodlands, and offers horse trails, a disc golf course, picnic tables, and a pavilion. Families with dogs will love visiting Trophy Club’s Freedom Park, which features over 8 acres of leash-free space for your pets to roam freely and play with other canine companions. The park also offers a playground area for the kids, making it an ideal place to spend a weekend with the family.
As mentioned in our Golf Properties North of Fort Worth article, Trophy Club is more of a residential town, and doesn’t offer any restaurants aside from the dining available at the golf course. Luckily, Roanoke, Texas is only a short drive down the Texas State Highway 114 from Trophy Club, and Roanoke offers plenty of great dining options. Take a bite of some contemporary American cuisine at The Classic Café at Roanoke, or enjoy some happy hour fare and traditional Cajun-style dishes from Bayou Jack’s Cajun Grill. Steak is always popular in most Texas households, and the rustic Reno Red’s Steakhouse is one an incredibly popular options for beef, pork, and other Wild West Favorites. After a great meal with your spouse or family, you can take a peaceful cruise to the edge of Lake Grapevine, and enjoy the peaceful serenity.
